Shooting headshots for a friend’s daughter recently I was lucky enough to catch a candid moment when she was listening to her ballet instructor. It ended up being one of my favorites from the shoot.

Murray’s Rule. Shot in their rehearsal space in a basement in Portland, Maine. Their soulful sound lent perfectly to the black and whites. On this particular night they were running through a cover of Cee Lo’s F**K You. It was the first time I had heard the song. I thought it was brilliant.

The second in the series for ShootStyle’s “Here Comes the Sun” assignment. This one is called Nightshift.

How stressful it must be for those hardworking vampires of the nightshift who must rely on public transportation.

A late bus can be deadly.

Shot on Portland’s East End Promenade while joggers, dog-walkers and cops looked on curiously … but all kept their distance.
